Overview
An interactive visualization tool for building intuition in hyperbolic and spherical geometry — tessellations, geodesics, and curvature made explorable rather than only equational.
Architecture
- WebGL/Three.js rendering of hyperbolic models (Poincaré disk and/or upper half-plane) and spherical tessellations
- Interactive geodesic and curvature controls — draw a geodesic, watch it bend as curvature changes
- Likely a standalone tool first, with the option to embed as a widget on this site later
Milestones
- 01Scope which hyperbolic models ship in v1 — Poincaré disk is the natural starting point for interactivity
- 02Build a minimal interactive tessellation demo (one model, one tessellation pattern)
- 03Decide standalone tool vs. embedded site widget
Open questions
- Audience isn't decided yet — educational/public-engagement tool vs. research tool changes the scope significantly
- Whether this connects technically to any other project or stands alone as a public-engagement piece
