Earth-field nuclear magnetic resonance as a low-cost qubit testbed
Overview
An Earth-field NMR setup — using the ambient geomagnetic field rather than a superconducting magnet — as an accessible platform for exploring nuclear-spin qubit control and readout. Sits alongside the Paul trap (Yb+) and NV-center diamond programs as one of the lab's low-barrier quantum sensing/qubit testbeds.
Architecture
- Sample cell and polarizing coil for pre-polarization in Earth's field
- Pickup coil and low-noise preamp for free-induction-decay readout
